Q. Where is your produce grown?
A. All of our fantastic produce is grown in North Queensland - it's all locally sourced.
Q. Is Simsha really 100% Australian?
A. Yes we are! All of our produce is grown and packed in Australia by an Australian company.
Q. How long can frozen fruits be stored?
A. Simsha frozen fruit products all have Best Before Dates on the back labels. However, we do not recommend using frozen fruit after 2 years.
Q. How does Simsha frozen fruit assist with reducing food waste?
A. Unfortunately Australian households throw out roughly 20% of all the food they buy, as they've usually gone off by the time you want to use them. Simsha frozen fruit products have a 2 year shelf life, so there's plenty of time to use it all up! Simsha is dedicated to reducing waste and supporting our local growers, so we accept all fruit (bananas, mango, pineapple) - big, small, curved, straight, bumpy, lumpy - that would otherwise be thrown away.
Q. Do Simsha frozen fruit products contain added sugar?
A. No. We don't add sugar to any of our products. All sugar listed on the nutritional labels is from the fruit itself - naturally.
Q. Can I refreeze my Simsha frozen fruit product once it has thawed?
A. No. We recommend that once it has thawed, you either use it up or throw it out.
Q. Are there any additives or preservatives?
A. None at all. At Simsha we are dedicated to all of our products being 100% Natural.
Frozen banana is produced in either 2.5kg or 5 kg bags diced or whole. There is only 100% banana in the bag without any preservatives or chemicals.
Fully mature banana is sourced from HACCP accredited farms in Tropical Queensland. It is then washed and transferred to plastic crates for uniform ripening of banana. Ease of peeling and sugar level are the two factors considered at what stage the banana needs to be peeled. It is then vacuum packed in food grade polythene bag and frozen to -25°C.
The frozen banana has a life of two years from the date of packaging if stored at or below -18°C.
Once banana is peeled (and diced), it is vacuum packed in 70 µ thick transparent food grade bag to lock the freshness and taste. It is then frozen to -25°C to stop the oxidisation process and hence the natural creamy colour is preserved. No preservative, acidic gas or liquid is used to stop browning. There is only 100 % fully ripe Cavendish banana inside the vacuum packed bag.

Fresh and mature pineapple is sourced from North Queensland farms. Tropical Queensland has the perfect climate and soil conditions for pineapple farming. Only matured (coloured) pineapple is selected for the processing. Pineapple stops ripening (and so does the sweetness) after harvesting but the colour may continue to change. Due to the time taken to travel long distance, pineapple is harvested before it’s optimum sweetness.
The predominant fresh market pineapple variety is Smooth Cayenne mainly because it is in abundant supply. The flesh is firm, close-textured, juicy and with a pale-yellow to yellow colour at maturity with average acid range between 0.5 and 1.0% and total soluble solids (TSS) between 12° and 16° Brix.
MD2 (also known as Mareeba Gold) and 73-50 are less juicy and have high brix value of 17°-18° and low acidity of 0.4 – 0.45%. We mainly process either MD2 or 73-50 due to its high demand in the market.
MD2 and 73-50 both have a higher TSS to acid ratio of around 40 compared to 20 of Smooth Cayenne. Frozen pineapple wedge is produced without any additives/preservatives or chemicals.
Fully mature pineapple is sourced from HACCP accredited farms in Tropical Queensland. It is then washed to ensure its cleanliness. It is then peeled and cored. Wedges of required size are cut from the cored pineapple and individually frozen at -20°C. Frozen wedge is then packed in to required bag/box sizes.
The frozen pineapple has a life of two years from the date of packaging if stored at or below -18°C.

Kensington Pride (KP), also known as Bowen mango, is sourced from mango farms of North Queensland where the soil and climatological conditions are perfect for mango farming. Only fully mature mangos are selected for processing. The mangos are free from mould, rot or any foreign material.
At perfect ripeness level mango is peeled and the cheek is taken out. No machine is used to peel mango thus avoids any leftover peel. Cheeks are taken out and frozen. Frozen cheeks/diced mango is then packed in food grade plastic bags of 5 kg and 2 bags (10kg) in a cardboard box.
The Product shall have a life of 18 months from the date of manufacture when it is stored at or below -18°C.
